Certificates of Origin
As an exporter, you need quick, accurate processing for your certificates of origin. The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is here to help.
Pricing:
- Seattle Metro Chamber members pay $20 per certificate.
- Non-Chamber members pay $100 per certificate.
Certificates of Origin are processed Monday through Friday. Certificates are typically approved by close of business on the day they are submitted. Some certificates may require up to two business days to approve. The Seattle Metro Chamber does not process certificates of origin for goods originating outside of the United States.

Some foreign countries or importers require this for certain commodities. The purpose of the certificate is to authenticate a product’s country of origin.

No, notarization is no longer needed.
Documents Needed:
- Completed Certificate of Origin form using essCert.
- Bill of Lading or Air Waybill (shipping documentation), The Bill of Lading, Air Waybill number or, shipping documentation number must be listed on the Certificate of Origin under line – 5.

When I am using essCert, what is the difference between save and save draft?
Save: Saves the application and allows you to continue working on it.
Save Draft: Allows you to save the application and closes the window. You can return to make edits and complete the application later.
