The passage of the Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act provides an opportunity for Washington State to leverage federal investments in some of our state’s most urgent transportation needs.
On Tuesday, February 8, the Washington State Legislature unveiled a transportation package titled Move Ahead Washington that will do just that.
The announcement of Move Ahead Washington comes at a critical time as our state faces urgent transportation challenges that must be addressed for our region to see a successful economic recovery.
The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce supports the passage of Move Ahead Washington because this proposal:
- Addresses critical transportation needs
- Allows us to finish projects that we’ve already started
- Invest in inequitable economic opportunity for all
- Prioritizes environmental stewardship and sustainability.
