King County Council on Jan. 11 released its committee and meeting schedule for 2022.

At that meeting, Council passed two motions; one motion related to the organization of council committees that establishes the purview of each committee. The second motion updated council rules and committee meeting schedules. Councilmember Claudia Balducci will remain in her role as Chair of the King County Council.

Below you can find details on the meeting times and leadership:

Full Council will meet the first, second, third, and fourth Tuesday at 1 p.m.

  • Balducci will remain as Chair
  • Girmay Zahilay will serve as Vice Chair of Policy Development & Review
  • Dave Upthegrove will serve as Vice Chair of Regional Coordination

 Budget and Fiscal Management will meet the second and fourth Wednesday 9:30 a.m.

  • Joe McDermott will serve as Chair and Dave Upthegrove will be Vice Chair
  • Committee members: Rod Dembowski, Zahilay, Sarah Perry, Jeanne Kohl-Welles, Balducci

Committee of the Whole will be the first and third Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

  • Jeanne Kohl-Welles will serve as Chair and Reagan Dunn will be Vice Chair

Employment Administration will meet the fourth Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

  • Balducci will serve as Chair and Zahilay will be Vice Chair
  • All Councilmembers are members of this committee

Government Accountability and Oversight will meet the second Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

  • Pete von Reichbauer will serve as Chair and Jeanne Kohl-Welles will be Vice Chair
  • Committee members: Balducci, McDermott, Dunn

Law, Justice, Health and Human Services will meet the first Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

  • Zahilay will serve as Chair and Kohl-Welles will be Vice-Chair
  • Committee members: Dembowski, Perry, Balducci, Dunn

Local Services and Land Use will meet the fourth Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

  • Perry will serve as Chair and Balducci will be Vice Chair
  • Committee members: Zahilay, McDermott, Dunn

Transportation, Economy and Environment will meet the third Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

  • Dembowski will serve as Chair and Von Reichbauer will be Vice Chair
  • Committee members: Zahilay, Perry, Kohl-Welles, Upthegrove, Balducci, McDermott
