International Trade
With more than 40 percent of all jobs in Washington tied to international trade, the Seattle metropolitan region is one of the most trade-driven economies in the country. To maximize our region’s international competitiveness, the Chamber has collaborated with the Brookings Institution, the Boston Consulting Group and others to launch an effort that benchmarks us against our global peers and has identified major initiatives–such as education, infrastructure and foreign direct investment attraction– that can address our strengths, opportunities and challenges. The Chamber also works closely with affiliate programs like the
Washington Council on International Trade and
Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle to ensure policies and investments that maximize our region’s international competitiveness.
