Media Statement on Initial General Election Results

Marilyn Strickland, president and CEO of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, said, “Tonight’s initial returns are not definitive enough to call these close races. We know from our polling that voters want more solutions and less ideology from their councilmembers. We are looking forward to the next ballot count tomorrow afternoon.”

The Chamber’s political action committee, the Civic Alliance for a Sound Economy (CASE) endorsed the following candidates:

  • Seattle City Council District 1: Phil Tavel
  • Seattle City Council District 2: Mark Solomon
  • Seattle City Council District 3: Egan Orion
  • Seattle City Council District 4: Alex Pedersen
  • Seattle City Council District 5: Debora Juarez
  • Seattle City Council District 6: Heidi Wills
  • Seattle City Council District 7: Jim Pugel
