Early election results encouraging for Seattle’s future

Daudon: We are thrilled to see such wide support for Jenny Durkan, who will be the leader we need as Mayor of Seattle

SEATTLE—After initial election results were released Tuesday evening, Maud Daudon, president and CEO of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, stated, “I am encouraged by what we’ve seen so far in tonight’s results.  There are a lot more votes to count, but we’re proud to see most of our endorsed candidates leading. We need real leadership in City Hall right now and it looks like voters agree with us.”

Daudon added, “This year, CASE, the Chamber’s political arm, endorsed candidates who reflect Seattle’s values and are willing to work with the business community on solving our city’s toughest challenges—including housing affordability and ensuring Seattle remains a place where everyone can thrive. We are thrilled to see such wide support for Jenny Durkan, who will be the leader we need as Mayor of Seattle.”

“We’re also pleased to see continued support for our tried-and-true officials, including Dow Constantine, Lorena Gonzalez, and Stephanie Bowman, and support for King County’s Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services levy.”

The Chamber made the following ballot measure endorsements:
King County, Proposition 1: YES

The Civic Alliance for a Sound Economy (CASE) endorsed the following candidates:
Mayor, City of Seattle: Jenny Durkan
