SEATTLE – The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Irish Network Seattle are pleased to announce a special WIBLI (Women in Business & Leadership Initiative) keynote address by Ireland’s first female Ambassador to the United States, Anne Anderson, on Tuesday, June 24, 7:30-9:30AM at The Rainier Club in downtown Seattle, presented by Premera Blue Cross.
“Ambassador Anderson’s keynote will be a WIBLI event highlight,” said Maud Daudon, president and CEO of the Chamber. “We’re eager to hear about her work with women globally and her personal journey in leadership.”
Ambassador Anderson has a passion for issues that concern women on the global stage, and she is the first female in each of her roles representing Ireland, including Ireland’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
Following a series of symposiums and events, this fourth WIBLI event includes a full breakfast at The Rainier Club, the keynote address, and networking opportunities among female leaders representing multiple industry sectors.
WIBLI is committed to achieving a three-pronged goal: creating mutually beneficial relationships for women in the Puget Sound region; inspiring women in all levels of their careers to take tangible steps toward career growth, including mentorships; and providing tools, access, and resources related to resolving issues women face along their career path.

About Women in Business & Leadership Initiative
Empowering women in business and leadership is necessary to sustain a healthy and vibrant community. The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, along with a selection of our region’s top business stakeholders and leaders, have created the Women in Business & Leadership Initiative (WIBLI) to both provide women with the tools and resources they need to succeed in their careers, as well as to increase the number of females at the forefront of our region’s private, non-profit and government sectors.
“The Chamber’s long-time commitment to women in business and leadership was energized in spring 2013 when Senator Patty Murray led a discussion on issues currently facing women in the workplace,” said Maud Daudon, Chamber president and CEO. “With WIBLI, we're engaging some of the powerful women currently in leadership roles in our region with younger women who want to be the next generation of leaders in our community.”
Past WIBLI speakers include: Scilla Andreen (CEO of Indiflix), Hon. Christine Gregoire, Courtney Gregoire (Port Commissioner), Kim Obblink and Kristin Knight (Filter), and Jane Park (Julep).
