Committees

Leadership and Strategy Committees:

All Leadership and Strategy Committees are open to Seattle Metro Chamber members by invitation only, or through the annual nomination process.

Board of Trustees

Sets the vision and strategic priorities for the Seattle Metro Chamber. Board members participate and lead key committees that support the Chamber’s work.

Executive Committee

Conducts much of the routine business of the Board in between meetings. Advises, governs, promotes, and oversees policy and overall direction of the Chamber, including assessing and applying best practices for governance of nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations comparable to the Chamber.

Equity Committee

Makes recommendations to the Chamber’s Executive Committee on a rolling basis regarding issues of racial equity and anti-racism, and holds the Chamber and its Board of Trustees accountable to our anti-racism pledge.

Finance Committee

Advises the Chair and the President in the preparation of the annual budget and in handling funds of the Chamber; responsible for the annual audit and report the findings to the Board and the Executive Committee.

Nomination & Member Development Committee

Nominates and recommends candidates for the Board, Executive Committee, and officer positions that fairly reflect and represent the diverse sizes and types of business conducted by Chamber members. Represents members, helps formulate membership policies, and participates in the development of member programs and benefits.

Policy Leadership Group

Provides recommendations on public policy positions, including legislation and initiatives. The group is comprised of representatives across various industry sectors to ensure the Chamber is informed about policy issues impacting the regional business community.

Programming Committees

Alaska Business Forum Committee

Explores the latest news, trends, and opportunities within the state of Alaska to assist with selecting key topics and speakers for the event series. These forums give access to some of Alaska’s top leaders – including transportation heads, fishery founders, and some of the state’s top elected officials. Who can serve: Open to all Seattle Metro Chamber members.

International Leadership Steering Committee

Supports the planning for a group of delegates from the Seattle metropolitan area to visit a thriving global region to foster stronger relationships and lasting connections with key leaders and businesses. Who can serve: Open to all Seattle Metro Chamber members.

Intercity Study Mission Steering Committee

Assists with planning for a group of government, business, and civic leaders to visit another North American city to learn more about our own region through the lens of our destination. Who can serve: Open to all Seattle Metro Chamber members.

Regional Leadership Conference Steering Committee

Supports development of the agenda for the Chamber’s premier event – the Regional Leadership Conference – where our region’s top business, government, and community leaders gather to dive deep into conversations and problem solving. Who can serve: Open to all Seattle Metro Chamber members.

Small Business Advisory Group

Provides input on programming, events, policy, and benefits to assist the Chamber in supporting the growth of small businesses. Who can serve: Open to Seattle Metro Chamber small business members.

Serves as a forum for emerging transportation issues and drafts the Chamber’s transportation principles for state legislative session. Who can serve: Transportation Task Force is open to any member interested in transportation topics.

Provides input for membership programs and benefits. Assists with welcoming new members and promoting membership to the larger business community. Who can serve: Open to all Seattle Metro Chamber members.
