King County leads the way in opportunity and innovation. But even as we are held up as an economic model for the rest of the country, we face a serious challenge within our labor force – one that conflicts with our deeply held local values of inclusion and fairness. A 2013 study found that our gender wage gap is one of the largest in the country. This inequity has direct consequences for the King County labor market, our regional economy, and our quality of life.

100% Talent, a joint initiative between the Seattle Metro Chamber and Women’s Funding Alliance, has been engaging regional employers in highlighting best practices to effectively tackle the wage gap. Join us Tuesday, May 23, for the inaugural Wage Gap Summit, where you can hear directly from employers about the actionable solutions that 100% Talent members and others are using to successfully tackle this issue.

The event will also feature several exciting speakers who will share their insights on how the gender wage gap impacts our industries and regional competitiveness, including:

  • King County Executive Dow Constantine,
  • Pat Milligan, Senior Partner and Global Leader of When Women Thrive, Mercer, and
  • Tammi Kroll, CTO, Gravity Payments & Dan Price, CEO, Gravity Payments

The Chamber and Women’s Funding Alliance are also excited to announce new data on Seattle’s gender wage gap, which will be released the day of the Summit, updating the research done in 2013.
